Australia Mining Fleet Management Solution

In Australian open-pit mining operations, the fleet consists not only of mining trucks but also includes command vehicles, production engineering vehicles, dump trucks, excavators, forklifts, large cranes, and more.

Mining Environment

- The mining site features mixed traffic with various types of vehicles, a high number of vehicles, and personnel, resulting in poor traffic conditions.

- The roads within the mining site are temporary gravel transport roads with a short lifespan, uneven surfaces, and a high risk of driving hazards.

- The high-bench mining method leads to frequent turns with small turning radii and steep ramps.

Mining Truck Structure

- Mining trucks have large load capacities, complex structures, and operate in harsh conditions.

- Blind spots exist on all sides of mining trucks, significantly impacting driving safety and being a direct cause of accidents.

Driving Behavior

- Risky behaviors such as using mobile phones, fatigued driving, smoking, and not wearing seat belts can easily lead to safety incidents.

YUWEI Mining Fleet Management System

The onboard monitoring front-end system consists of an active safety warning system, a 360-degree surround-view system, a standard vehicle-mounted monitoring system, and an onboard terminal. The onboard terminal includes multi-mode satellite navigation positioning, 3G/4G wireless transmission, and other functional modules. All information collected by the front-end sensors is transmitted wirelessly to the management platform, where it is aggregated, processed, and shared.

Active Safety Warning System

This system includes three main components: Driver Behavior Analysis (DBA), Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), and Blind Spot Detection (BSD) for the right side. The core of the system consists of an intelligent driving assistance terminal, a DBA camera, an ADAS camera, and a BSD camera. It enables real-time monitoring and alerts for driver behaviors such as fatigue driving, smoking, using a handheld phone, prolonged distraction, absence from the driver's seat, hands-off driving, and not wearing a seat belt. Additionally, it provides detection and warnings for pedestrians, vehicles, and objects on the right side of the vehicle, as well as collision prevention alerts.

360-Degree Surround-View System

The 360-degree surround-view system addresses blind spot issues by using panoramic image stitching and image balancing algorithms to seamlessly merge four ultra-wide-angle 720p/1080p camera feeds. This system provides complete 360-degree monitoring and recording around the vehicle. The driver can easily assess their surroundings via an in-vehicle display, significantly enhancing situational awareness. This system improves safety during vehicle start-up, turns, parking, overtaking, and obstacle avoidance by eliminating blind spots, extending the field of view, and increasing reaction time to prevent accidents such as scraping, collisions, and rollovers.

Standard Vehicle-Mounted Monitoring

Since intelligent monitoring applications like the 360-degree surround-view system and active safety warning system are installed in fixed positions and cannot provide full coverage of all scenarios, a standard vehicle-mounted video monitoring system is used to complement them. Its primary function is to assist in overall scene reconstruction and monitoring.
